Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
Duties:
- Assist with legal research, writing, and document management systems - Conduct client interviews and transcribe detailed notes - Utilize legal software such as Westlaw and iManage for case management - Support attorneys in preparing legal documents and correspondence - Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and closings - Organize and maintain legal files and databases - Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role - Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures - Familiarity with transcription software and Paralegal certification is a plus - Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently - Proficiency in administrative tasks and attention to detail

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
