This non-regulated position will work with an assigned doctor during Mohs procedures.
Duties include Mohs histology procedures, tracking of all submitted Mohs specimens for processing and diagnosis, as well as the necessary recording of Quality Assurance and Quality Control for the Mohs Lab.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Mohs Accessioning each Mohs specimen with a unique patient case identifier.
Must be proficient at Mohs tissue specimen embedding/mounting procedure, cutting Mohs tissue specimens at 6 to 10 microns to include daily QC slide in a Leica CM1850 cryostat, and manually staining tissue slides with routine Hematoxylin and Eosin.
Ensures equipment is in working order and immediately notifies Mohs Lab Manager when problems occur.
Maintains the Mohs Lab environment in a professional and clean manner.
Completes recording all required QC for Mohs specimens and Mohs laboratory.
Assigning a unique patient identifier (accession number) for each patient.
Performs all documentation required for Quality Assurance including bi-annual Mohs Proficiency Testing (PT).
Responsible for the adherence to the Mohs Procedure Manual, and updates as needed Responsible for the adherence to all HIPAA regulations, keeping strict confidentiality under these regulations.
Responsible for adherence to all safety protocols and using the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Other duties as assigned.
Medical Assistant Assisting physicians in providing quality care to patients Providing side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures Reviewing medical history Maintaining notes in EMR Obtaining appropriate consents Calling in prescriptions Performing patient callbacks Other duties as assigned.

Communication - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work Style - Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed.
Ability to analyze and interpret information, ability to interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
