Summary:
The Graduate Nurse works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
A new to practice Graduate Nurse will become part of the Nurse Residency Program or the Nurse Fellowship Program for specialty services such as Surgical Services, Critical Care, Emergency Department and Women and Children's Services.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse:
Develops plan that includes strategies to attain expected outcomes.
Implements the plan of care interventions and medical plan of care as appropriate.
Coordinates care delivery.
Employs patient teaching to promote health and safety.
Evaluates progress toward outcomes.
Practices ethically.
Attains knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
Integrates evidence and research finding into practice.
Contributes to quality nursing practice and shared decision making (SDM) by supporting council decisions, implementation of decisions and active participation in SDM.
Communicates effectively in all areas of practice.
Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting.
Collaborate with patient, family, the inter-professional team, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
Utilizes appropriate resources to plan and provide nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible.
Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
Accountable to foster, participate, and be knowledgeable with the shared decision-making model of the NCH Healthcare System.
Education, Experience,
Qualifications:
New practicing GN will become part of the Nurse Residency Program or Nurse Fellowship Program for specialty services such as Surgical Services, Critical Care, Emergency Department and Women and Children's Services.
Must meet the following
Qualifications:
No more than three months since graduation from an approved RN program.
Authorized by the Florida Board of Nursing to practice as a Graduate Nurse and have received a Graduate Nurse letter from the Florida Board of Nursing.
Has received authorization to test for RN licensure by the RN examination vendor.
Once Graduate Nurse takes their NCLEX, Graduate Nurse status will expire.
Basic Life Support (BLS Provider) certification required from American Heart Association.
Intermediate computer knowledge:
Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
Location:
NCH Healthcare System 4th Floor North Naples Schedule:
Full-Time, Day, 0645-1915.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
